  • “Put this on your bucket list”
    • This place was fantastic. We had to change rooms after the first night, which we knew ahead of time, and almost stayed somewhere else. We are very happy we stayed at Jacobson's! The owners help all they can, the rooms were spacious--first night had an extra bedroom. So close to Waterton, Canada; Many Glacier Road and Two Medicine area. Rode bicycles over to Two Medicine Lake, a little hilly, but absolutely gorgeous ride. 25 mile roundtrip. Jacobson's cottages are on the north end of town, a number of restaurants very close. A one to two mile walk gets you into the part of town on Hwy #2 where Serrano's restaurant is delicious. We were disappointed we could not get any rooms at Many Glacier Lodge, Glacier Lodge, or MacDonald Lake Lodge but now realize we were lucky! Those place are cool and we stopped at each one for beers and (or) lunch but they were very busy-people bustling. Jacobson's cottages (about $85 US) was perfect for our September vacation; mellow with chairs out in front of the rooms, birds in the trees---YEAH!
  • “Old but excellent! Friendly owners!”
    • We stayed 3 nights and the cabin, while old, was perfectly fine. It was very clean and the bathroom had been updated recently. We had a little refrigerator and microwave. The location was perfect and we could walk to breakfast each day. The 2 bedrooms were very inexpensive.
  • “Great Value, Best lodging during stay”
    • We split our Glacier trip between West and East Glacier. We will be staying at Jacobsens from now on! Even though it was very warm (not that unusual for the summer), having a fan in the window brought the temperature down so much in the room I had to turn it off! It was very quiet, comfortable and clean! Love East Glacier location and being able to walk to the store and the laundry mat. Highly recommend.
  • “Clean and centrally located - pickup and dropoff at the train station”
    • >Well known local place.......clean and centrally located. They pickup and drop off at the train station. Within walking distance to Glacier Park Lodge.
  • Great little cottage area. Will stay there again!!!!
    • >Great quaint nothing fancy little cottages in a beautiful setting. Owner is awesome!!!!! My wife called from her cell phone to find a place to stay while we were on the road. A gravely voice at the other end said, "Well, I just had a cancellation". Okay we thought. The place is well kept, but older and pleasantly reminded me of when I went on family vacation with my own parents, back in the seventies. Not in a bad way…..in a good way!!!!! An inexpensive place to stay, chairs outside each little white cabin and a great night's sleep. Be fore we slept we asked our awesome gravely voiced host what's around? "Well, have ya seen the Lodge? Down the road, ya can't miss it. It's huge". OMG!!!!! it's not huge it's mammoth!!!! I'd stay with host anytime. He's awesome. The cabins aren't big, but are very clean and comfortable. What more do you want?
  • “Quiet. Restful”
    • "Recommend for anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, quiet, cottage in a great location at a great price."
  • "Delightful little cottage in the woods"
    • The setting alone is worth staying here. There are chairs outside each cottage, so you can just sit and take in the beauty of the area. Very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. Remember this is not a "chain" motel, as there are no coffeemakers in the rooms and they don't offer breakfast. Each cottage does have a minifridge. 2 restaurants are within walking distance, and both serve very good food at a reasonable price.
The staff was very friendly and informative. A great place to stay before your trek into Glacier National Park.My husband, cousin and I spent three days at Jacobson's Cottages. Folks, if you don't book here you don't know what you are missing. The hosts are very pleasant. Our towels were changed every day. It was clean and very comfortable. The location is very nice. Not too far from the Amtrak train station, but not within walking distance. There are several eateries within walking distance. Nice and quiet. Enjoy!

  • “Clean & Comfortable”
    • Other travelers had rated Jacobson's Cottages highly, so we booked there for 2 nights - the first after arriving on Amtrak's Empire Builder out of Mpls, and the 2nd the night before our return train. We had #3, which has a very comfortable queen bed on the soft side - we both slept great in it. #6 has a firmer bed, if you prefer that.
Our cottage was very clean and well maintained. We watched the owners work constantly when they weren't checking people in-watering flowers, painting, cleaning. It's obvious they take pride in their place. There's maybe 12 cottages under the pines around a semi-circular drive - with a neat playground for kids to play on, well-maintained grass and flowers, and right next door to Luna and Wagon Wheel restaurants. Quiet, smells great, incredibly relaxing. It's not the Hilton-but who goes to Montana for that? Not us. Definitely a great deal for the price (Glacier Park Lodge is $200 & up and definitely not worth it!). The owner said they're working on creating a web site that will show the cottages.
Recommend for anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, quiet, cottage in a great location at a great price.
  • “Fabulous stay”
    • Myself, my wife and 2 daughters in their 20s stayed at the HOUSE(as opposed to the cabins) that is sometimes available in East Glacier. Wonderful facility because you have a full kitchen, 2 comfortable bedrooms and a living room. Not far from the road going into the park BUT at night there's hardly any traffic and the bedroom windows face the back so road noise is not a problem at all. It was very nice being able to cook some breakfasts and prepare lunches for our daily hikes, instead of dealing with restaurants during the days. Hosts were very helpful and friendly.
Very comfortable and cosy with a small TV and books and VCR tapes (and player) available. Small quirky (in a nice way ) town with lots of stores and restaurants close by. Got excellent restaurant advice from our hosts. Ate at Bison Creek Dude Ranch a few miles west of town on route 2. Wonderful home cooked dinners with a very friendly and attentive staff. Try their Huckleberry ice cream. To die for!!
ALso a great location to get to hikes in the area and not that far from the drives in other parts of Glacier Park. Try it you'll like it!! (and very reasonable)
  • “Wonderful place to stay and great value for money”
    • We booked this after reading reveiws on Tripadvisor and speaking to Suzanne on the phone. We are good friends and travelling in 2 couples. We shared a double bedroomed cottage which was comfortable and very clean. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone - either at the cottages or in the town itself. Our 2 nights stay was very good value for money, as were all of the shops, restaurants etc that we used in town.
  • “Loved it”
    • We stayed three nights at the cottages & loved it. The cottage was very clean & we were supplied with new towels, etc every day. Our kids LOVED the swingset & slide & we enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables & visiting.
      Owners extremely friendly & helpful.
Only complaint was a "party" going on in a private house behind our cottage the first night. Also, you are not supposed to drink the water here which we weren't told about before we came. They do have a water cooler for use. Luckily we brought lots of our own water so it wasn't a problem.
  • “Clean and quiet”
    • Nice place, quiet and clean, just on the north edge of East Glacier. Hostels in town for $12, but here you have a 2 bed cottage, AC and heat, bathroom. No food, breakfast, etc, but go to the Two Medicine Grill in town for breakfast.
  • "unbeatable comfort, convenience and location"
    • I liked everything about Jacobson's cottages! Very nice, helpful people running it !.. My companion and I spent 10 days in a very comfortable, clean room located close to small restaurants and a car rental agency run by a couple of great gals. Although we used it as an operating base for exploration of Glacier Park and Canada, the room was always clean and ready when we returned. I highly recommend them and the surrounding area.. Try the Thimbleberry Cafe if it's open----great!!!
  • "We had a good time!"
    • My niece and I stayed for three nights while we explored Glacier National Park. The cottage had two beds separated by the small bathroom, to provide a bit of privacy. It was clean and pleasant, bug free and quiet. The staff is helpful, they lent us a hair dryer and coffee maker, and gave great tourism advice. The cottage stayed cool in the hot weather, has a wall heater for cold nights, and nice warm blankets. The only negatives were a very low-pressure shower, lack of hanging space for clothes and limited TV channels. I compared our accomodations to those at Glacier Park Lodge, and Jacobsen's Cottages are almost as nice and 1/3 the price. You can visit the Lodge and eat there for the money you save. We would go back in a minute!
  • "Loved it here"
    • We actually stayed at a 2-bedroom house near the cottages that Suzanne manages for the owner. It was fabulous and Suzanne and her family took great care of us. We were able to cook most of our meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It was very convenient as we visited different areas of the park each day and were close enough to go back to the house each night. Highly recommend Jacobson's Cottages!!! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! We stayed for 7 nights/8 days, very comfortable, very clean, very affordable.
  • "Very Well Kept"
    • The owner was very helpful in answering our questions, recommending restaurants, etc. There were a lot of little details that made this an excellent stay. The sheets and pillow cases were not white. The towells were red and white. The drive in was lit with little lights to help when returning at night. Overall the stay was very pleasant, and this was due mostly to the efforts of the staff and owner. I would recommend it highly to any one.
  • "Highly Recommended for Eastern-side of GLACIER NP"
    • Jacobson's Cottages is a wonderful location to stay. We rented a kitchen unit and another cottage for our Family for a 5-day stay. As advertised, the units are exceptionally clean. They were comfortable. And the cottages are located right between a small grove of trees. The owner/manager -- Suzanne -- will make you feel right at home! This was our 3rd trip to Glacier NP (from Los Angeles), but our first time staying at Jacobson's Cottages. We definitely intend to return & stay here again! I believe East Glacier (near Two Medicine) [or possibly, St. Mary] provide the best "staging areas" for seeing the many spread-out sights in Glacier National Park (which does require extensive driving). Liked: kitchen facility; cleanliness, wooded, location in Glacier NP Disliked: no phone (minor inconvenience) Tips/Secrets: be prepared for extensive driving, but GLACIER NP is our favorite (and we've been to many).
  • "Nice experience! Good Value!"
    • We had a pleasant and clean cottage here for 2 days. Cottages are separate units. These are quite old but in perfect condition. No dirt, no cracked tiles, etc. Very well maintained. We had two queen size beds, a table and three chairs, good bathroom, good lighting and electrical outlets everywhere you look. TV OK with about 17 stations. Located 1/2 mile from the Glacier Park Lodge and the Amtrack station. Almost one hour drive to St. Mary. State Rd 464 at Browning is fast way to get to Many Lakes or Canada if you are daytripping there. Plenty of small local eating places or go to the Glacier Park Lodge for Buffet Breakfast. Paid $64 per day for our cottage. Old Glacier Jammer Bus tours availbable 1/2 mile away so you don't have to drive if you don't want to.
  • "A Little Bit of Heaven!!!"
    • My husband and I spent three wonderful days in Glacier Park, along with two other couples. We stayed at these cottages and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. We liked everything about these lodgings. The first night there, we all sat out in front of the cottages, drinking champagne. It was delightful, so serene!! If we're ever able to return to the Park, we shall stay there again! Thank you!!!
  • "Comfortable and Affordable"
    • We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of not just our room but the grounds as well. The care and concern for their guest is shown in this family owned/operated facilities. I would definitely recommend Jacobson Cottages and look forward to returning in the future.
  • "Very Quaint and Clean"
    • The locale is perfect, nice little restaurants around East Glacier. Not the Ritz but if you want a clean place to come to after a long day hiking this is the place to be. We had a double cottage which was spacious with a nice remodeled bathroom with great soft towels. I plan on going back in a year or two and plan to use Jacobson's as my place of respite.
  • "Great Place”
    • Five of us stayed here recently on the occasion of our annual hiking trip...this year we were exploring the Two Medicine Lake region. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful in every way; in fact I realized after I returned home that I had forgotten some items and I called; the items are on their way to me. We had two cottages; one with the kitchen which was fully equipped right down to a rolling pin for baking up huckleberry pies! Queen size beds were comfortable, bathroom was very clean as was everything else. Wifi is available but difficult to access which is probably the case for most of the area. It's very quiet for sleeping. The "sleeping units" also have a small fridge and microwave but do not have dishes. There is a bbq and picnic tables on the site so makes for a nice place to sit and have a glass of wine or a beer or have dinner outside. As par with comments of other tripadvisor users, the showers did run from hot to cold....it seems that the entire water system is all together and is not regulared...therefore if someone a few cabins down is having a shower, as are you, both of you will feel the effects! Other than that inconvenience, it is a delightful spot, great location and within easy walking distance of everything. Highly recommend.
